Drunk Driving Accidents are a Huge Problem for Florida Drivers

When it comes to Florida drunk driving accidents, it is often “the other guy” you have to worry about. You may be a responsible driver, but what about the other driver? Thousands are injured and many more killed in drunk driving accidents each year.

You have probably heard of an organization called Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Their stated mission is, “to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.”  This organization has compiled some interesting facts including that about one-third of all drivers arrested or convicted for drunk driving are repeat offenders.

MADD estimates that 11,773 people died in drunk driving accidents in 2008. What’s even more shocking is that on average, someone dies in an alcohol-related accident every 45 minutes.

If you or someone you know has been injured in a car accident caused by a drunk driver, you should contact an experienced Orlando auto accident attorney at the Francis Law Group at (407) 363-9939 or (888) 521-2721.
