665 Traffic Accidents Occurred Each Day in Florida

According to the Traffic Crash Statistics Report 2008 provided by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were 243,342 traffic accidents in 2008, which translates into 665 crashes each day. Among these accidents, 346,610 drivers were involved.

59.5 percent of all accidents occurred in primarily business areas
7,878 pedestrians were injured in accidents
502 pedestrians were killed in accidents
4,380 bicyclists were injured in crashes
118 bicyclists were killed in crashes
8,519 motorcyclists were injured in accidents
502 motorcyclists were killed in accidents
