The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is almost finished with its investigation into a summer accident at Universal Orlando, as well as probes into three summer incidents that occurred at Walt Disney World. These probes have not been resolved.
According to an OSHA spokesman, all three of its investigations involving Disney are still continuing, including the monorail accident on July 5th. The monorail accident resulted in the death of the 21-year-old driver Austin Wuennenberg. The other accidents being reviewed led to the deaths of Mark Priest, 47, and Anislav Varbanov, 30.
The summer accident involved Universal Orlando’s Dueling Dragons roller coaster, which was occurred just four days prior to the monorail accident.
OSHA has up to six months to finish its investigation into the accidents. There are not any anticipated delays that will make the investigation go beyond the six-month deadline.
The Orlando Sentinel reported that Universal Orlando’s debt ratings went up last week by Moody’s Investors Service, after the resort’s $1.6 billion capital restructuring earlier this month. Universal had been looking at an April 1 deadline to refinance its debt.
